Data sources
Here you can see which sources the hub keeps, how they may be used and under which licence they are published. The list is loaded live from the source register.
The three modes
Every source has exactly one mode.
-
Read-only
read-onlyThird-party source. The hub reads and caches the data where the licence permits and never writes back.
Examples: OpenStreetMap, Wikidata, Open Data Hub, Outdooractive, Contwise, Guidle
-
Read and write
read-writeThe source allows write-back through its own interface. Writing happens only through the connector and only after approval for each tenant; it is switched off today.
Examples: Feratel, later a customer’s CMS
-
Own data
ownData held in the hub itself (Schema.org model). The tenant creates, changes and deletes it and chooses the licence.
Examples: Events, infrastructure, corrections made by a region
Licence and usage notes
Examples of conditions the hub complies with:
OpenStreetMap (ODbL)
The data is published under the Open Database License. When it is used, the attribution “© OpenStreetMap contributors” is required.
Google Maps Platform
Only the Place ID is stored. No other content is stored; display and routes stay with Google.
Outdooractive
Under the API terms, display in your own application is the only permitted use. The data is not passed on and never appears in the open dataset.
As of October 2026, based on a review of the providers’ licences and terms of use. Their current terms are binding; these notes are not legal advice.
