TOURISM.ONE DATA

API & MCP

The data is available through a REST interface (JSON, JSON-LD) and through the Model Context Protocol (MCP) for AI assistants.

Access

You can read open data without a key. These are objects that come exclusively from sources with an open licence.

A tenant key gives access to the data of a region or a customer and, for own data, also write access. It is issued on request only and sent in the header “Authorization: Bearer <key>”.

MCP for AI assistants

Through the MCP endpoint https://mcp.tourism.one, AI assistants search the data, list sources and categories and check where individual details come from. Without a key, access is read-only and limited to open data.

The address mcp.tourism.one is currently being set up.

Example configuration for an MCP client

Without a key (open data, read-only). The configuration syntax differs from client to client.

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "tourism-one-data": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.tourism.one"
    }
  }
}

With a tenant key (the tenant’s data; own data can also be written). Replace the placeholder with your key and never store it in a repository.

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "tourism-one-data": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.tourism.one",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <key>" }
    }
  }
}
